Today we say good-bye to Hong Kong, and hello to Singapore.
Hong Kong has been great, and we managed to do all of the things on our list that we wanted to do, but never got to on our first trip. The one thing that we chose not to do, was the floating Jumbo restaurant, as the food (as I have mentioned) had started to get to us, and the food on the menu looked like the usual fair of half cooked creatures out of a Roald Dahl book.
For anyone wanting to visit Hong Kong, I would recommend 5 full days (7 nights) to get every thing in, and I would suggest the following:
- Disney Land (1 full day)
- The Big Buddha on Lantau Island (half a day – take the ferry followed by the bus up to the top, and only take the cable car back down, this way you will save a good hour queuing for the cable car)
- Harbour light show
- Avenue of Stars
- Ocean Park (1 full day)
- Using the MTR (it’s just fun
) - Catch a ride on a tram
- Find a market place in Mong Kok
- Explore Kowloon and Hong Kong
I hope that Singapore will be as much fun as Hong Kong was, and that the local food is a bit better.
